Dynniq UK announces WYCA contract win
Dynniq UK announces West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) contract win.
Dynniq UK are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a prestigious contract for a new Urban Traffic Control (UTC) system for the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA).
The existing legacy systems from the five West Yorkshire Councils (Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield) are managed through four stand-alone UTC systems. Each system is configured using a local server arrangement by the relevant Authority.
The project will provide seamless cross-boundary access to the Urban Traffic Control networks of the five West Yorkshire Councils. Ultimately, a regional operational control centre will manage all operations through an all-new Dynniq Web-based Graphical User Interface. The backend infrastructure will be hosted by Dynniq in its secure and highly resilient data centre. In addition, Dynniq will be building on its existing UTC interface to Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) to make the best use of all the available data.
“The five West Yorkshire Authorities and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority are pleased to continue to build on a long-standing partnership with Dynniq in the development of the next generation of UTC with the new West Yorkshire Cloud-Based UTC system”
Dave Caborn, UTMC Manager, Kirklees Council
“This is an exciting project that brings together a number of key elements, these include; linking adjacent TMS areas to easily share data, a new web-based GUI, multi-client hosting on our secure and highly resilient data centre, and offers a significant step forward in linking our established UTC with the rapidly emerging C-ITS features and capabilities”
Kevin Gilday, Head of Product Management, Dynniq UK & Ireland
